A recognized trusted plastic surgeon and Internet blogger on “Plastic Surgery Myths” Dr. John M. Anastasatos is a Board-certified cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon licensed to practice in California (USA) and the European Union. His innovative techniques of minimal incision breast augmentation and lifts, minimally invasive midface suspension, modern type abdominoplasty and endoscopic surgery of the forehead and face have found great success and earned him an international following amongst television personalities, pop musicians, film stars and socialites.

The son of a Greek shipping executive, Dr. Anastasatos was born in New York during one of his father’s overseas assignments. Returning to Athens, Greece at the age of eight, he quickly discovered a love for science and math and a deep interest in medicine. As an honor student at the prestigious Athens College prep school, Dr. Anastasatos observed his first surgery at the age if 16 and found his calling. By the time he graduated from high school, he had assisted on over 30 surgical procedures. He got a full scholarship for the continuation of his education at Brown University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the famed Ivy League institution in only three years and was immediately accepted by the School of Medicine, where he was awarded a medical degree with high honors just four years later.

General surgical training followed at the esteemed Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University. Leaving New York City, Dr. Anastasatos moved south to University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB) for a sought-after Cosmetic and Reconstructive residency under renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Louis Vasconez. With a keen interest in anti-aging programs, Dr. A realized the importance of the hands in maintaining the “mystery” of age and simultaneously completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery, Upper Extremity and Micro Surgery, widely considered one of the most difficult surgical specializations. Impressed with his intelligence and ability as Chief Resident, the university invited Dr. Anastasatos to work as a Clinical Instructor. Upon his certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. During this time, Dr. Anastasatos also served as Attending Surgeon at UAB Hospitals, The Children’s Hospital and Veterans Hospital, recognized as a southeast regional specialist in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and abdominal wall for burn, cancer and trauma patients.

His passion shows off his natural looking and artistic cosmetic work led him to Los Angeles in 2005, where he offers his skill as a cosmetic surgeon of face, breast, abdomen and body procedures to the demanding masses of savvy Hollywood consumers at offices in the posh enclaves of Newport Beach and Beverly Hills. In Southern California, a place often referred to as “ground zero” for plastic surgery, Dr. Anastasatos has quickly become well known for being a revision cosmetic plastic surgeon. This means he has the surgical training to help correct cosmetic operations of the face, breast, nose and body contouring that went poorly the first time. Dr. Anastasatos’ warm and humble personality and his detail focused surgical approach have made him a Beverly Hills cosmetic favorite. A growing demand by a well-heeled “jet-set” clientele for Dr.Anastasatos’ expertise led to the establishment of his first international office in Athens, Greece in 2008 to great media fanfare.
